From April 23 to April 24, 2026, the Austrian Foundry Institute, in collaboration with the Proguss Austria Association and the Department of Foundry Engineering at the University of Leoben, hosted the Austrian Foundry Conference at Fill Maschinenbau in Gurten.

Urs Brandenberger's presentation on modern foundry software clearly made an impact: it sparked many conversations, generated concrete inquiries, and demonstrated genuine interest in what is possible today in planning and cast part development.

We were particularly pleased by the exchange with Benjamin Jung of Heck & Becker GmbH & Co. KG, who, in his own presentation, hit upon a point that resonated deeply with us: Anyone who wants to succeed in international competition must be fast - in development and in decision-making. Otherwise, the implementation becomes hectic. Digital tools are not a luxury anymore, but a key lever.

Two days, around 20 compelling presentations, exciting discussions - and all of this against one of the most impressive industrial backdrops Austria has to offer. An event that fully lived up to its excellent reputation.
