VDI Symposium on the Casting of Chassis and Body Components
by Ralf Gerke-Cantow
The annual symposium is a key event in the German-speaking world for specialists and managers from the fields of the design and development of chassis and vehicle bodies.
Visiometa was excited to attend and showcase its latest advancements at the VDI Symposium "Gießen von Fahrwerks- und Karosseriekomponenten 2024", a premier event bringing together industry leaders from the automotive and foundry sectors. The symposium, held in Landshut from March 19th to March 20th 2024, highlighted the latest trends and technological developments in structural casting, particularly in the context of the automotive industry's shift towards electromobility.
At Visiometa's exhibition stand, we engaged with experts, OEMs, and industry professionals, sharing insights into new casting concepts using lightweight aluminum, inspired by recent innovations from Tesla and others. This trend has prompted OEMs to explore advanced structural part designs, considering both the business case and potential for implementation in existing and future production facilities. Visiometa continues to be at the forefront of this evolution, contributing to the cutting-edge advancements discussed during expert presentations at the event.
